Wider key skills
Teaching wider key skills in schools, colleges and higher education establishments has never been more important. Wider key skills turn students into enterprising, employable graduates who are ready to engage with today’s working environments. The government’s Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has made funding available to help education establishments provide wider key skills training to students.
Acting as an external delivery partner, The Working Knowledge Group Ltd has created the Ride the Wave programme to support higher educational establishments as they draw down the government support and provide their students with wider key skills learning.
The Working Knowledge Group will support and guide educational establishments at every stage of the wider key skills funding process, minimising paperwork and administration so that your focus is on providing your students with practical, vocational talents which will compliment their traditional information-based education. Our aim is to encourage enterprising behaviour in students and to provide them with skills designed for the new economy. From communication and problem-solving skills to an understanding of working in a team, the wider key skills provided by The Working Knowledge Group’s Ride the Wave programme will help students to leave education with the ability to engage with future employers, managers and colleagues. In turn, employers and the business sector can be confident that the education system is providing them with a greater number of more appropriate graduates.
Ride the Wave from The Working Knowledge Group works in partnership with education establishments to guide and support whilst providing the resources needed to meet wider key skills targets.
