Key Skills

Wider key skills focus on coaching students in three main areas: improving their own learning and performance, working with others and problem solving.

These skills and attributes are key to the success of a student entering the workplace after education. They can make the difference between a school-leaver and an employable, mature graduate. In the current business climate it is crucial that students are given ample opportunities to develop their wider key skills before they join a workforce.

Wider key skills encourage independent thinking, an enterprising character and engagement with the community. Students who have been given key skills training will be better learners and be more successful at working with others.

Communication skills will enable students to be better able to write reports, give presentations, succeed at interview and manage colleagues properly.

Problem-solving skills will benefit graduates in the workplace as they encounter new challenges, work to deadlines and progress in the workplace.

It has never been a better time to teach students wider key skills.
