Search for Bristol's business dragons
City of Bristol College is seeking local entrepreneurs to judge its Take the Plunge competitions, where students can put forward their business ideas. The competitions will run 20th-23rd and 28th-30th September.

Delegates from the South West Regional Development Agency, Osborne Clarke, Arnolfini, Watershed, Business in the Community, Office Angels and GWE Business West have already pledged their support, but the college needs even more help.

It expects more than 80 employers and 500 students to be involved in the contests.

The youngsters will include those on BTEC business, leisure and tourism and art and design programmes.

Leah Burrows, who heads local recruitment consultancy Flair 4 Recruitment, will be among this year's judges. She said: “I am really keen to support anything that encourages innovation, talent and passion for business.
These students could be Bristol's next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders – that's exciting to be involved with. I'm an avid fan of Dragons' Den and The Apprentice and can't wait to see what ideas the students will come up with."

Clare Lindstrand, managing director of marketing and graphic design agency Four, judged the competition last year and is looking forward to returning for this year's event. She said: "I find it very inspiring to see the energy and enthusiasm that young people have. It's great for them as it's a fun way to look at business outside the classroom, while for us it's an opportunity to network with other businesses and to see what talent is out there."
