Lakes College - 24th College to Ride the Wave

On 12th May 2009 150 students from Lakes College West Cumbria, together with 12 local employers, will take part in Make a Splash. Lakes College are using this one day pilot programme to develop the enterprise and employability skills of their students and expose them to the world of work.

Castle College hosting Ride the Wave Pilot on 29th April

The first East Midlands college to take advantage of the Ride the Wave Pilot programme is Castle College Nottingham. They have booked a taster day for Diploma students - 60 will take part with level 2 learners joining level 3 diploma learners for the event.

Pilot Event programme launched

A number of colleges have asked us how they can experience Ride The Wave in action with their students without organising a full event. The key issues seem to be about raising the confidence of tutors and management that the event will work and also being able to assess how students react in an unusual environment. So, the good news is that we have launched our Pilot Event programme.

The Plunge wins two National Training Awards

At an awards ceremony in September 2008, the Working Knowledge Group was awarded both a Regional Training Award for the North East as well as a coveted National Training Award for the delivery of its course, The Plunge.

Students take The Plunge in business deep end A training programme for young people in an area of industrial decline in the North East was known as The Plunge. So named because it threw students into the deep end of business to see whether they can sink or swim, it has earned the company behind it, The Working Knowledge Group, a place in the finals of the National Training Awards 2008.
